Detox vacationing might sound like an oxymoron, but it becomes integral after an extensive festive season that starts in November with Diwali and goes right up to the first day of the New Year. Adopt a heath-conscious outlook in 2014 by attending the Wellness Weekend programme that is being organised for folks, who partied like there’s no tomorrow and now feel the need to recover from the festivities of the year gone by.
The trip offers a weekend of yoga, health, nutrition and wellness at Lonavala. The activities will include two sessions of Yoga on the lawns that surround the villa (which will be your abode for two days) conducted by a wellness expert (1 hour 20 minutes each). Then there will be an opportunity to hike to Tungarli Lake (1 hour), two sessions on nutrition and healthy diet by wellness expert Mukta Tolani (45 minutes each) and some time to relax and refresh. Meals will be cooked keeping in mind a healthy diet and will comprise bajra rotis and veggies and fruits, etc.
The idea behind the programme to plan a weekend as a way for people to recover from the just-concluded festive season. Elaborating on this, Sudeepta Sanyal, founder, Blueberry Trails, organiser of the trip says, “We felt the perfect way to detox would be a weekend in the hills, learning and doing a bit of yoga, going for hikes, eating healthy food and learning more about good nutrition; things that one can also continue after returning to the city. It’s a great way to start the year on a healthy note. The weather is great to be in the outdoors and thus we combined theelement of wellness with the great weather with a stay in a villa.”
